The Miracles of Jesus (I Can Read! / Adventure Bible) is a retelling of three miracles performed by Jesus. I think there are a number of great things about this book. First, I like having an I Can Read book that is based on the Bible. I think many kids will like being able to read a Bible story. I also really like the illustrations. I think they feel updated and help bring the story to life.

While the book is written so children can better understand and read the story, I think it is important to remember that it is a retelling, not word for word directly from the Bible. I think this held closely to the Biblical accounts, but wanted to point out that it is a retelling.

This is more of a technical element, but there are two “title headers” one for "Jairus’ Daughter" and one for “Feeding Five Thousand.” While there is a third miracle in with Jairus’ daughter, I found it a little confusing distinguishing only two miracles, when there are three.

Overall, I liked this book. I like what Zondervan is doing with this series and I am hoping they will come out with more of them.

Another great book in the I Can Read Series. Totally age appropriate for young readers, allowing them to read the story. I love the Adventure Bible stories, they are really child-friendly, not talking down to the children, but keeping it simple enough there is no trouble understanding them.

This book shared two of my favorite miracles of Jesus, the raising of Jairus' daughter and the woman with the issue of blood. The faith of those two people always inspire me. The artwork is wonderful, bright and eye catching. A pleasure for readers of all ages. 4.5 stars from this reviewer. This book covers two major healing stories first Jesus raising Jarius's daughter from the dead and second feeding 5000 from 5 loaves and 2 fish! After reading the book it was fun to discuss a few other miracles such as turning the water to wine, or healing a blind man, or healing the paralytic man, or any of the other ones!

I love the "I Can Read" series and my 7 year old daughter is becoming a mighty good reader. She enjoys learning more about Jesus and I enjoy seeing her Faith increase!

This book is a great book for at home or for your church kids program! (Posted on 1/28/2015)

I had the distinct pleasure of having one of my sweet grands read Miracles of Jesus with me. The book hightlights two of Jesus' miracles; Jairus' Daughter and Feeding Five Thousand. I so enjoyed hearing the story told from my sweet one's mouth. Such a blessing to have them be able to read with confidence about the miracles that Jesus performed.

Since it is taken from the Adventure Bible the illustrations by David Miles are wonderful. I especially like the facial expressions. Good pictures combined with an engaging story make for the perfect reading for a wiggly kiddo.

My grand is an eight year old and was able to read this with confidence. I did have to help with the pronunciation of Jairus and Galilee but other than that everything was smooth. When we read it again a couple of days later it was perfect. If you have a new reader that is ready to move on to the next step this is great book to help them work on their skills.

In Miracles of Jesus (I Can Read), there are two miracles highlighted. One Jairus' Daughter and the second was Feed the Five Thousand. Each substantial in their own right, but also amazing when coupled with the many others that Jesus' preformed preceding his death at the cross. This I Can Read, book is a level two, which means that the reader will need help. The font used was a little larger which makes for easy reading. I like reading books like these to my four year old, because I want him to know of the miracles of Jesus in words that he can understand.

So as you can see even if it is a leveled reader, you can still read these type readers to your younger children and they seem to grasp the topic identified. I love the illustrations by David Miles as well. He is very talented!

The Miracles of Jesus is a retelling of New Testament Bible stories. This book tells three different stories; the story of Jairus’ daughter, the woman that reached out to touch Jesus, and the feeding of the 5,000. There is also an informative page at the back of the book listing more of the miracles Jesus performed through the Bible. The same illustrator did this book, so the images are equally as colorful and engaging. The stories of Jairus and the woman are told in one “chapter” which is a nice break as this book is a bit long,

This book is a small compilation of several popular miracles in the Bible that Jesus performed while on earth. These miracles are the ones our children usually learn at an early age in Sunday School, such as Jairus’ Daughter, the sick woman who was healed when she touched Jesus clothing and feeding five thousand with five small loaves of bread and two small fish. These carefully chosen miracles all teach about faith.

This beautifully written and stunningly illustrated book is sure to delight your child from ages 4-7. It reinforces how important faith is and how great God’s love for us is. These are timeless stories from the Bible that never grow old.

If you are not familiar with the “I can read” books, they help your child by reinforcing their reading skills. These particular books also help with the spiritual guidance of your young child.

My 7yo is an advanced reader and read this book independently, save having help to pronounce Jairus name. He connected easily to the story and liked the illustrations. I definitely recommend it.

Yesterday I reviewed A Father's Love from the Zonderkidz I Can Read series and today we read Miracles of Jesus from the same series.

Since this is a step 2 as well, Reed was able to read it himself. This one is about some of the miracles of Jesus and it was a lot of fun. While he had heard a couple of these stories, we'd never read anything that focused solely on them.

Miracles were such a huge part of Jesus's ministry so I like that there is a book dedicated to them. My kids hadn't yet heard all of these stories so we took the time to discuss each of them in detail after reading it. I think something about this book made the miracle aspect of Jesus really click for them and now they are looking at him more like a superhero! What a great perspective for them since after all, he was and is a superhero!

The Miracles of Jesus book is a great addition to the I Can Read series and Reed liked it so much he read it twice in a row right off the bat. (Posted on 12/31/2014)
