So what is Dirty God by Johnnie Moore book about? In a nutshell this book will show you how radically different Christ really is and how absolutely amazing His love is for you. It’ll demonstrate for you just how Christ, unlike any other God before him, got down and dirty and did the REALLY tough work that needed (and continues to be needed) here on earth. You’ll be left feeling inspired and challenged you to do the work of Christ yourself.Overall Rating
I am not a theologian. I have not gone to school to study the Bible. While I spend time studying the word in my own way pretty much every day I know there are way too many people who could run circles around me any day. I find by reading books about Christ I gain the perspective of another. I see new attributes about Jesus I have previous missed. If the book is good and the theology aligns with scripture I can usually say that I grow closer to my God. I can say Dirty God did just this for me. So I’m not a super scholar on the Bible. I’m just me.
This book met me right where I am. It held my attention with a presentation and language style that was understandable and captivating. It digs deep enough into scripture that I was challenged. But not so much that I glazed over lost in a world my brain cannot comprehend. I cannot say there is anything earth shatteringly new here, even to me. But even so it challenged me to rethink my walk with Christ. It made me ask myself if I am living up to the ideals that I hold true to my heart?
I’d certainly recommend this book to new and old believers alike.

Johnnie Moore strikes an amazing blow to our contemporary ideas about God, with his new book Dirty God. Moore shares the stories of his travels to India as a young missionary, and brings a stark contrast to the compared religious systems. With each sentence, Moore tries to show us that God is not only giving us grace, but He does so with extreme willingness.Overall Rating
Moore uses a warm narrative style that invites to take part in his stories, which took place in exotic origins. His insights to God are solid theologically and supported biblically. However, Moore makes sure to moderate his words to supply the most potent lessons that are applicable to our lives—keeping our attention for the most part. On the other hand, his introduction seems to be a but draggy, though it kept my attention, due to his sharing of personal experiences in India. (Posted on 12/19/2012)
