In the first part of this book I present a general panorama of the situation that hundreds of thousands of people who arrive in the United States are living seeking asylum after having been victims of violence in Mexico and other countries, and the series of obstacles, the bureaucratic wall, legal and social indifference with which they are. I will also talk about the way in which the southern border of the United States has fulfilled the function of being a gateway for those whose presence in the country is convenient for their government, and also how this same border has served to build the notion of "the other".

In the second part I will give more details on how the criteria for giving and denying asylum to those who request it have been constructed, depending on their country of origin and their political sign, as well as on the lucrative business that these criteria represent for the companies that run the centers deprived of immigration detention.

In the third part I will talk about the impunity that exists in Mexico and other expelling countries, whose governments have not only failed to comply with the obligation to ensure the safety and welfare of their citizens, but are sometimes accomplices of violence and violence. persecution that forces them to leave their country. Finally, in the fourth part I will narrate the stories of those who have had to restart their life in the United States, a completely unknown place, in the face of the indifference of most of society.
