The NIV Bible for Teen Guys is a Bible from Zondervan, specially designed for teen guys. (I received a hardcover Bible to review, but it also comes in a two imitation leather/softcover options: blue or charcoal.) The hardcover is printed with the image you see - there is no dust jacket.

The pages in the NIV Bible for Teen Guys are appealing and very easy on the eyes. It has all black text (including the words of Christ) with various golden brown accents (headings, chapter numbers, etc.), laid out in two columns. This is the NIV version of the Bible (© 1973, 1978, 1984, & 2011). The text is standard size - not large, but not extra small. It does contain some basic footnotes. There is a pretty presentation page (on glossy paper), printed with an image similar to what you see on the cover.

There is a brief, single-page introduction for each book of the Bible. Each introduction covers a few basic things about the book ("When Did This Happen?", "Who Is In This Book?", "Verses You Might Recognize", and "What's It About?").

There are 360+ devotions in the NIV Bible for Teen Guys - so you could easily use this for a yearly devotional.

I do think it is important to point out that there is a reason this Bible is marked for "teen guys" and not just "guys" - the topics in a few of the devotions reference dating, sex, pornography, drinking, dark arts/occult etc. Whether or not you decide your guy (teen or otherwise) is ready to take on these topics is up to you, but I wanted to be sure to make it clear that these topics are addressed so that you can make an informed decision.

The devotions are placed throughout the Bible, and you can also find the devotions by looking at two indexes at the back of the Bible - one listed by topic ("Topical Index") and one listed in order of appearance ("Index of Devotions for Building Faith, Wisdom, and Strength"). The topical index is a helpful resource and will reference a devotion multiple times if it fits into multiple categories. Some of the devotions are excerpts from other books, but some appear to be exclusive to this Bible.

In addition to the devotions, there are pages devoted to 50+ men of the Bible. These are placed throughout the Bible, and you can also find them by looking at the index at the back of the Bible ("Men of the Bible Index").

There is also a Concordance (approx. 80 pages) at the back of the NIV Bible for Teen Guys. There are no maps like you might find in the back of some Bibles.

All in all, I think that the NIV Bible for Teen Guys is a good choice for a Bible for teen guys.

How do you choose a Bible for your teen son? Well, I think you ultimately let him choose it, but it is a good idea to look over and discuss the features of different Bibles. This NIV Bible for Teen Guys has daily readings throughout the Word; I would guess every three to five pages. I appreciate the way the daily readings are throughout the Bible because then ideally you would read the Word and end on a daily reading.

As I read these daily readings, I have found they were discussing exactly what a teen boy would need to hear. There are several different authors of these daily readings and I think they all have done a wonderful job taking the Word and making it very applicable and relatable to life today.

Another feature that I like about the NIV Bible for Teen Guys is the Topical Index in the back. You can look up the different daily readings to jump to something that is pressing for your son today; for example, attitude, bravery, college, friends, money, secretes or wondering from God.

I know that the Word of the Bible is really all we need, but especially when you are young you may read and read and read and not really see any insight to what God is saying. I feel these daily readings in the NIV Bible for Teen Guys make the Bible a really good choice. (Posted on 11/1/2016)

Upon your growing in the Lord, you will buy many new Bibles. It may be that you want a different cover or color or maybe a new version. Whatever the cause or reason or even circumstance maybe there are literally tons of different types. Today we are reviewing the NIV Bible for Teen Guys. This Bible comes in a hardcover, but is available for your kindle, as well. You can also get leather bound which is always great! So there is something for everyone.

Guys need a lot of encouragement. I know this because I live with four of them. They need it a lot of the time and that's why this Bible has a little extra something to help our guys with that sort of thing. So your guy can get daily encouragement from many of today's more popular author's. These men lead in many different ways and are exposed to a lot of today's culture and and situations. They are really good authorities on this type of subject matter and can help our young men.

This Bible has a lot of features, some of which that I think should be in every Bible. My favroite part is the character profiles of men in the Bible. At just under 1800 pages, this Bible serves many purposes other than food for the soul. The young teen guy in your life would find it very resourceful and full of things that applies to his life. Makes a great gift!

**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from the publisher. (Posted on 9/27/2016)
