“Another Man’s War is about true terrorism . . . against more than 200,000 children in northern Uganda and Southern Sudan. Sam Childers—a fighter and a preacher (some call him a mercenary)—tirelessly leads a small militia into the jungle, daring to fight against a vicious army outnumbering him one thousand to one. One man can make a huge difference. Sam Childers certainly does.”Peter Fonda, actor/filmmaker, best known as star of Easy Rider

“The Reverend Sam Childers has been a very close friend to the government of South Sudan for many years and is a trusted friend.”President Salva Kiir Mayardit of South Sudan

“The Reverend Sam Childers is a long time devoted friend to our government and his courageous work is supported by us.”President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda

“Sam Childers is one of those rare men [who is] willing to do literally whatever it takes to promote the message of Jesus Christ and save children from the tyranny of evil men.”John Rich, lead singer and songwriter, Big & Rich

I read this book in days, I couldn't put it down. This book will appeal to those of us who believe in miracles and it is for people who want to believe that miracles can happen. This is the story of a man who started off being a person who spread fear and pain wherever he went until a series of seeming coincidences brought him to the church which called him to God. It was that call that brought him to Africa and Africa brought him to his mission in life. Rev. Childers himself admits in the book that he never in his wildest imagination thought he would even go to Africa let alone spend all of his time, money and effort rescuing and defending the children of Sudan and Uganda from a menace so terrifying and horrific as the LRA and Joseph Kony. God, however, works in mysterious ways and sometimes what we thought was going to be our path in life turns out to be merely preparation for our true life path in life. This was certainly the case for Rev. Childers. I highly recommend this book for anyone who needs a witness to the power of one, the power of prayer and the power of faith in action.
