The Angels in the Bible Storybook is a hardcover storybook focused on the appearance of angles throughout the stories of the Bible. There is a presentation page that makes this great for gift giving.

The Angels in the Bible Storybook includes a total of 30 stories (15 from the Old Testament and 15 from the New Testament) spanning between 5 and 10 pages per story. The stories are on full-color illustrated pages. The illustrator's unique style adds to the stories. The stories may be a bit long for some little ones, but the colorful pages will help to keep their attention. The stories are definitely embellished and artistic license is taken. I definitely wouldn't use this as a main text to teach children Bible stories, but it can be useful to stretch the scope of reality a bit and help open our eyes to the presence of angels. For that reason, I recommend it.

I love this book. “Angels in the Bible Storybook” is an excellent book and guide to many Bible stories for young children. Allia Zobel Nolan is an expert at writing for children. This could be read by older children or read aloud to younger kids. “Angels” is a good book for the whole family.
From Creation in the Old Testament to the lives of Jesus’s disciples in the New Testament, angels appear as God’s voice to give direction or to help when needed.
A wonderful book that incorporates today’s phraseology to more easily involve youth of today. This informal language makes learning about angels more fun and attractive. Also enjoyable are the beautiful illustrations by Alida Massari. The angels are gorgeously portrayed. Another attractive attribute to this book is that the book’s hardcover itself is illustrated rather than relying on a book jacket. I love that.
I think anyone with an interest in learning more about the Bible or perhaps just refreshing their memories would find this book worthwhile.

Do you believe in Angels? How about the ones you see on TV? Do you think they look “real” or portray what a real angel is like? I do believe in Angels! I am not sure what they look like to know if what is portrayed in the media is accurate, however I think that God sends us angels at different times for different reasons to help us on our journey here on earth.
In Allia’s book, Angels in the Bible Story book, she uses concrete evidence from the bible that shows us angels do exist! Allia pulls from the new and Old Testaments, (15 from each), to show the reader, in an easy to read format, the part angels play in helping us and serving God. There are many stories in the Bible where Angels are shown as messengers and they are also shown as a "siren" used to warn of bad, like Herod. What a great book to help illustrate the important roles that God’s angles have serving him.

Award winning author, Allia Zobel Nolan tells the story of God's helpers in an easy to read yet engaging manner that young and old will enjoy.

The illustrations are beautiful and there are lots of them to engage even my 10 month old granddaughter. I love to sit with her as she flips through the colorful and amazingly beautiful illustrated pages.

Allia has done a wonderful, job of compiling all the bible stories depicting Angels on God's assignments in both the Old and New Testaments. OI love that she includes scripture references for each, which makes it easy for me or (reader) to share with my 10 month old granddaughter. You can't start to young instilling God's truth, and this is a beautiful resource to do so.

There is also an angel wing symbol used throughout to point out and learn further facts about Angels.

This book is a beautiful hardcover Storybook that would make a great gift and addition to any library. I am excited to order the audio version to listen along with my granddaughter as we read along in the storybook.

I enjoyed reading Allia Zobel Nolan’s book, Angels in the Bible Storybook. Allia Nolan is an accomplished storyteller with a talent for drawing children into her stories with rich child-like concepts and casual word choices. It is obvious from the start that Allia knows children well.

Allia is equally familiar with her subject matter – angels in the Bible. She re-tells fifteen accounts of angel appearances in the Old Testament and fifteen accounts of them appearing in the New Testament. She begins every account with the Scripture reference telling where the event is told in the Bible. I found the references helpful, as a couple of the situations caught me by surprise, though they turned out to be correct.

Many of the stories will be familiar to children who grow up in a Christian environment, though some are less familiar and/or a little difficult to explain to children. Allia Nolan rose to the occasion, however; and brought the stories down to a child’s level.

The illustrations are fresh and colorful and will delight children. Some of the angels appear with wings and some do not. Beginning with the introduction, there are several places in the book that give general information about angels and how they appear to people. A few of these facts are that they are mighty in stature, they sometimes look like people, and the good angels have to fight fallen or bad angels.

What I like best about this book: The creative and thorough way it comes together – making it likely to become a favorite with many children and their families.

What I like least: The stories include a lot of dialog that does not appear in the Bible. This is one the the things that makes writing Bible stories for children difficult, as most biblical accounts are quite brief and written for older youth and adult readers. To make stories come alive for children, it helps for the writer to apply child-like imagination and fill in a little extra dialog and or backstory. I encourage parents to challenge their children, when they are old enough to do so, to read the stories in the Bible (the references are already written in the book for you), and sort out what is fully biblical and what has been added.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars. Wonderful book!

I received this book free from the publisher in exchange for an honest, though not necessarily positive, review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. (Posted on 2/19/2016)

When you think of angels how do they appear? What do you imagine their roles are in our day-to-day lives? The culture around us tends to give a distorted viewpoint that can be confusing especially to our children. So where do you go to figure out who they are and what their role is?

In 'Angels in the Bible Storybook' Allia Zobel Nolan takes us directly to scripture and leads us from the first appearance of angels to discover who these mysterious creatures are. There are thirty total stories, fifteen from the Old Testament and fifteen from the New Testament. As the stories unfold we get to see the angels in their primary roles of praising God. We also see how God uses them to bring news to His people, help His people when they are in sticky situations, and comfort His people when they are struggling.

As an adult I enjoyed reading through this concentrated account of angels. If you are like me you will take away such a blessing from being reminded that these amazing creatures do God's bidding to lead you down the path that He has set before you.

I loved Alida Massari's illustrations! They have an old world meets mixed media feel that is pleasing to the eye. While the pictures are beautiful and do a marvelous job of enhancing the book, it is the stories themselves that make the book worth reading to your children. As you read through these thirty biblical accounts you will help your kids understand who and what angels are. That will be an invaluable thing as they grow and enter into the world. Knowing what the real thing is all about will help them recognize and avoid the impostors.

“Angels in the Bible Storybook” was sent to me by Zonderkidz – a division of Zondervan Publishing – free of charge, in exchange for my honest review.

“Angels in the Bible Storybook” was written by Allia Zobel Nolan and beautifully illustrated by Alida Massari…both internationally published. This book contains stories found in the Bible including angels. Just a few that are included are “A Talking Donkey”, about Balaam and the angel who stopped his donkey. “A Stranger in the Fire”, about the three Hebrew children and the angel who walked in the fire with them. And, “A Son for Zechariah” about the angel who foretold about John’s birth. One of my favorite stories is “Daniel’s Message Gets Delayed” about the angel who is trying to get God's message to Daniel, but is stopped by a demon.
I love how the angel Michael comes to double-team and take out the demon so Daniel can get his answer. Each story also includes Scripture telling where the story is found.

I think this is a precious book…maybe for a middle schooler, and I would recommend it.

This is one of those books where the parent probably learns as much as the kid! Reading through the Angels in the Bible Storybook I was actually surprised at how often angels appear in the Bible! I was familiar with most of the stories but I guess I had never thought of the big picture before. That's what makes this such a great book because it puts them all in one place!

I couldn't find an age recommendation on this one but I thought it was good for my six and seven year olds. I like that it was broken up like the Bible into Old Testament and New Testament.

The one thing that was a little different for my kids was the illustrations. My daughter asked me why the angels looked like that. It's one of those things that everyone pictures differently in their minds so I agree with the interpretation of Massari and the decision to make them look so human. I think my kids picture them more like glowing magestic cartoon like characters that are usually depicted that way in storybooks.

I just tried explaining to them that we don't really know what they look like and that they have appeared in different forms, even just as ordinary men. It's a hard concept for adults to grasp so I understand their struggle with it.

After losing my dad this summer my kids have had a lot of questions about heaven and hell and life and death so this was a really good thing for us to read right now. I think Angels in the Bible Storybook was comforting to all of us. This would make a really wonderful gift this holiday season! (Posted on 12/15/2015)

Christmastime is a time where we think a lot about angels probably because they played a significant role in the birth of Jesus. I know in my Sunday School class we have been discussing the subject of "angels" a lot lately. Who are they? What important jobs does God use them for? And while I can't answer every single question about them, I can answer the few I have been receiving, but now with this very neat storybook you can help your children understand this subject so much further.

Many times in the Bible we hear or read about Heavenly messengers or angels. They were either sent to deliver messages or to fight. Above all they are made to do as God instructs them to do. Angels in the Bible Storybook explains each of the stories throughout the Bible that include these heavenly creatures. A book to definitely add to your reading list this season!
