For the little girls who love stories of princesses this is a perfect Easter book. It's a fictional story about how a royal kingdom celebrates Easter and their adventure to get to the celebration. The story is fun and the images are pretty. (Posted on 3/16/2016)

I have reviewed several of the Princes Parables series and this one is sure to bring delight to your family. This princess story brings in 5 competitive knights and while the princesses almost miss an important Easter meal. The princesses do learn an important lesson when dealing with competitions and obstacles that might arise... that no matter what we all must Trust in the Lord!

I love how the princesses stop during the storm and they leave a lasting impression on the power of prayer. As the princesses further their journey they seek the help of God and ask for wisdom and courage.

This will be a great title to have in any specials girls Easter Basket this Easter!

My grand girls have come to love The Princess Parables. It is a series of books for young girls (ages 4-8) that focuses on Biblical parables that involve the King and his five daughters Joy, Grace, Faith, Charity, and Hope.

A Royal Easter Story is based on Luke 11:7-13. It is almost Easter and the King and his daughters are preparing for the annual Easter Jubilee. It will be a large party for all the kingdom to celebrate the resurrection of the Lord.

One day during this season of celebration one of the newly instated knights of the King's round table drops by for a visit. With him are his five sons, Timothy, Andrew, Jonathan, Christian, and Alexander. Is this perhaps a peek into some future stories featuring these new characters? One can hope!

During the preparations Princess Grace ASKS a question about why they make the journey to celebrate the resurrection. Her father the King reminds her that it is for them to remember all that Jesus has done for them.

The day arrives and all the royal palace prepares to leave for the celebration but before they can depart a calamity happens. The Princesses and the knight's sons stay behind to fix it before joining the rest of the group. After the crisis is averted the group decides to take two different routes to race to see who can arrive first.

The princesses then find themselves SEEKING for answers to a brand new dilemma. They have found a lost little girl and must find a way to return her to her family. The girls must battle the weather as they make their way to their father the King. Once they arrive there they KNOCK on the door and are let in. Eventually the little girl is reunited with her family and everyone can go on with the celebration.

This is another great installment in this parable series. The message of putting the needs of others first comes through loud and clear. We also learn that God sees and hears His children and is eager to reach out and help them, they only need to ask.

If you are looking for a fun way to share some Biblical principles with your little girls then this is a great resource. The overall story is exciting and fun and the illustrations are quite engaging. But the best part is that you can use the story to strike up some very important conversations with your girls. As the Royal Princesses, Joy, Grace, Faith, Charity and Hope get ready for the annual Easter Jubilee in the nearby village they meet the noble sons of their father’s newest knight. Finally the anticipated day of departure arrived and everyone climbed into their wagons and was on their way…until..the wagon wheel on the King’s wagon broke. The new knight’s sons encouraged the king to go ahead and assured him they would take care of the princesses to see they arrived safely. Once they were on their way again the girls decided to race the knight’s sons to see who would arrive first. However along the way the girls faced some challenges that showed their selflessness and their trust in God.

This is such an adorable story. My great niece is going to love it. She can’t seem to get enough of the Princess Series. This book shows that even though competition can be fun, it’s not always winning, that has the biggest reward.

The illustrations are sure to grab the attention of even the youngest of your little princesses.

“A Royal Easter Story” was sent to me by Zonderkidz – a division of Zondervan Publishing – free of charge, in exchange for my honest opinion and review of it.
This picture book was written by Jeanna Young and Jacqueline Johnson. The illustrations were done by Omar Aranda. They are colorful and quite precious.
This story is about a family of five princess sisters. They are on their way to a big Easter celebration in another land, in a race with a group of knight brothers when they find a little girl who has lost her parents. The princesses decide that it is more important to help the little girl find her parents than to win a race. It starts to storm and they all huddle under a blanket and pray. I think this is the first picture book I have ever seen with an actual prayer…I LOVE IT!!
I would recommend this storybook.
