If you have a previous version of The Beginner's Bible: Timeless Children's Stories, I am going to go ahead and save you the time...you don't need the newest version.

With that taken care of, I am going to take a little time here to compare and contrast the older edition with the newest (2016) edition of The Beginner's Bible: Timeless Children's Stories. (I believe the older edition can still be found in the Collector's Edition. The Collector's Edition comes with audio CDs as well as a DVD - which happen to be additions that are worth the extra price, in my opinion.)

Probably the most notable change is the adaption of illustration style. The older editions of The Beginner's Bible products had artwork with black outlines. The newest illustrations are more of a 3D look and have more detail.

The pages in the newest edition of The Beginner's Bible: Timeless Children's Stories are coated (like something you would find in a magazine), where the older version had uncoated pages.

The text in The Beginner's Bible: Timeless Children's Stories is all the same as you will find in the older version, with a large text size that is great for young readers.

If you don't already have a copy of The Beginner's Bible: Timeless Children's Stories, it is a wonderful book to add to your collection of Bible stories for young ones.

When I first got this book, my six year old son was more than ready to take The Beginner's Bible and claim it as his own. In all the books we have ever owned, I think he spent more time with this one than any other.

Although, he can only read a little bit, he did ask a lot of questions about the pictures in the bible which lead to us reading the stories. In fact, just within the few minutes of receiving it, we had already read 4 stories.

Reading this bible is fun, explanatory and educational. My son already learned much more than I've ever been able to teach him with other books.

While this book may not have every single story of the bible inside, it does have over 90 stories. Even though, most of the stories inside The Beginner's Bible are the same traditional stories that my kids already knew, it did feature a few they never heard of. Each story is told in a way my children can understand, while still keeping the original version in-tack.

My children love The Beginner's Bible so much that I am already looking into more of the Beginner's Bible series. (Posted on 9/30/2016)

My kids really like The Beginner's Bible and now that the illustrations are familiar to them, they immediately recognize a book by it's cover as one from the series. That being said they were really excited to see The Beginner's Bible Timeless Children's Stories.

I have to admit, the illustrations have never been my favorite. Their faces just seem a little silly to me which I don't associate with the Bible. However, my kids don't have my ultra conservative nature and since the illustrations are primarily what initially attract them to these books. I'm all for them. They are bright and colorful and detailed really bringing the story to life.

This book is for ages 4 - 8 and all three of my kids really enjoy it. It's simple enough that the older two can read them outloud to my youngest. The stories are a bit long for my toddler so he's always eager to turn to the next picture before we are done with the page! I definitely think 4 as the youngest is probably accurate since Jax is almost 3 and can't hang for the whole story.

This book is much longer than most children's Bible story books with over 90 stories. Many of them are favorites my kids are already familiar with but it's a great introduction to others they don't know so well like The Jars of Oil or Earthquake in Prison. Many of these stories even I had forgotten about. I think a lot of books for kids are in the habit of just doing the same big ones everyone knows like Noah's Ark or Jonah and the Whale. This has those as well but so many more.

It's broken down by Old Testament and New Testament so it's good for kids to get used to the order of the Bible and each shows the Bible reference where the story is found. On days we have a little more time we go to the Bible and read the original story as well. While these versions stick to the accuracy of the Bible; they are just written in simpler terms for kids to understand. It's interesting for them to see the difference.

The Beginner's Bible Timeless Children's Stories is a really in depth look into many Bible stories with illustrations that will keep your kids anxiously turning the pages to see the next! (Posted on 9/19/2016)
