Goodnight Ark by Laura Sassi is a beautifully illustrated picture book for kids. It’s a great bedtime story and the art is so cute. The poem itself is fun and silly and your youngsters will ask to have this story read to them over and over every night. It’s a poem about bedtime on the Ark and what could have happened every night. I highly recommend this book.

Goodnight, Ark by Laura Sassi is a children’s book where the animals on the ark are unable to sleep because of the storm. Through the story, different animals go into Noah’s room where things get a little crazy. Noah then has to get the animals back to bed in this lighthearted story.

I really enjoyed reading Goodnight, Ark! I felt like a little kid as I was reading this because of the relaxed and humorous story line and fun illustrations. I found myself enjoying reading this story and laughing through it. One of the things I liked is that there were different animals such as quail and boars mentioned in the book in addition to the more common animals, such as elephants that many children’s stories have. I liked this balance as I think it may introduce kids to new animals, or at least, mix it up a little from the just having more common animals.

I enjoyed the way this story flowed and I found the illustrations to be cute and fitting for the story. I think they helped accent the feel of the story as well.

I know this is one book I am really looking forward to reading to my nephews and nieces sometime. I think they will really enjoy this story and the illustrations.

Goodnight Ark is a cute children's book that is illustrated beautifully! Jane Chapman does a wonderful job adding such character to Noah and all the animals. She added all the perfect details to really compliment the rhyming story by Laura Sassi.
The cute little rhyme in Goodnight Arc took me a few times reading through the book to really understand the timing of the rhyme. It has some pauses plus with the turning of the pages is was a little more than that super easy rhyme I am used to, but it was still a great book! (Which is really just a reflection if my style and personal opinion.) My kids wanted me to read it over and over so it was perfect that I got to perfect my timing of the rhyme!

I like reading different authors interpretation of stories like Noah's Arc because it sheds new light on the old story. This book helped my boys and I talk about what it must have been like to sleep on the Arc. Was it calm? Was it crazy? I cannot imagine!

Pictures do say a thousand words and I cannot say enough about the pictures in this book because they really could tell the story themselves! Overall, Goodnight Ark is a great children's book that we will be reading over and over for years many more years. (Posted on 8/22/2014)

Goodnight, Ark is a children's picture book, written in rhyme. This book by Laura Sassi is a fun, fictional story about the animals on board Noah's ark.

Goodnight, Ark is both fun and funny, and I can see this becoming one of our favorites. A few pages are written with the anticipation on one page and the completed rhyme on the next page, giving a good chance for your young ones to join in with their guesses.

Although the title may lead you to believe otherwise, Goodnight, Ark is not a Goodnight Moon-style book (where you are saying "goodnight" to something on each page). Rather, Goodnight, Ark is a story about the animals on board the ark who are getting scared as they try to go to sleep with the storm raging. I appreciated that the story includes animals which are not typically mentioned, such as boars and quail. (Just incase it needs to be stated explicitly - this is a fictional story, NOT a biblical account.)

The illustrations in Goodnight, Ark are fabulous. Illustrator Jane Chapman has done a wonderful job of creating images that are attractive and fun, giving the reader a lot to look at. (I watched my son's eyes darting around the pages, looking at all the detail.) The colors are a touch more muted than you might find in many other children's books, which I appreciate. Each illustration covers a full two-page spread.

Overall, I recommend Goodnight, Ark and think it would be a great addition to any family's bookshelf.
